Before Morehead, there was Grade School and Junior High

One of the big events at Leaksville Graded was the May Day show in the playground. Elaborate dances were performed.

 

In the 1950-51 school year, we were in the 5th grade.

The next year, 1951-52, we were sixth graders and king of the hill at our schools.

The next year, 1952-53, we were seventh graders and entering Junior High.

By the 1953-54 school year, we were in the 8th grade.

Next year, as 9th graders in the 1954-55 school year, we felt we were top dogs in Junior High.
